Ultimate Snacks

 
Here are some snacks that you can try out next time you’re hungry.  They provide you with the energy that you need and they taste GREAT!  These snacks are just some of the many healthy snacks available out there in the world.  Try them, and if you like them, search online for more healthy and nutritious snacks! Bon appetite!

1.      Assorted Fresh Fruit-Provided you with the vitamins and nutrients that you need and also the sugar boost to keep you going.  Different kinds of fruit provide different types of vitamins so eat a couple of fruits, not just one type.



2.      Fresh Garden Salad- Actually, it doesn’t have to come from your garden.  Especially if you’re in Hong Kong, then having a garden is impossible.  The veggies that are in your salad supply you with different nutrients and vitamins that other foods don’t give you.  It also helps your digestive system get rid of some waste. 


3.      Yogurt-Gives you the calcium that you’ll need and also, the live bacteria inside it is GOOD for your health. 


4.      Muesli-High in roughage and fiber.  Full of carbohydrates (sugars) that will keep you going until your next meal.  It is a longer lasting fuel for your cells and it’ll last longer than candy.


5.      Ants on a log-Take a couple of celery sticks and spread peanut butter on it.  Afterwards, add a couple raisins on top and-TADA!  Ants on a log!  The celery is high in fiber and nutrients and so is the peanut butter and raisins.  This snack is chock full of vitamins and packed with goodness.




6.      Popcorn! (surprise, surprise)- Corn is a type of grain and grains contain carbs!  As long as you get popcorn without the butter, it should be quite healthy and crunchy.  Try adding a sprinkle of salt to the popcorn to make the flavor less bland. 

7.      Ice-Cream- This is NOT the snack that you’ll be eating if you want to be healthy! Sorry, NO ice-cream. (unless its once in a long while and a special occasion, then I guess we can make an exception)
